Applications Sought for Open Police Commission Seat
The Town of Merrillville will be filling a vacancy on the Merrillville Metropolitan Police Commission. Residents interested in applying for the open seat can visit bit.ly/3vZxlnW to download an application. Completed applications can be emailed to Interim Town Manager Michael Griffin at mgriffin@merrillville.in.gov or dropped off at the Town Administration Office at 7820 Broadway. The seat on the Police Commission became vacant following the passing of former Commissioner Gene Ward. Ward was long involved in Merrillville and Lake County politics, and he served on many veterans and community organizations. The Town of Merrillville is greatly appreciative of all the ways Ward contributed to the town.
