Juneteenth 6/18/24
Juneteenth2024 copyThe Town of Merrillville is celebrating Juneteenth with a family movie night on June 18 at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway. There is free admission to the event that starts at 5 p.m. The town will begin showing two movies at nightfall. The movies haven’t yet been selected, but they will honor African American excellence in cinema. In addition to the movies, there will be local vendors and food trucks selling items. A children’s play area also will be open during the event. We can’t wait to see you there!



Independence Day Fireworks 7/3/24
Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. You van view the display at Merrillville High School or from the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway.

Mark your calendars because we’re planning our annual Fourth of July Parade! You’ll definitely want to be in the “Heart of the Region” this Independence Day as we continue our tradition of bringing together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the holiday.
We’re looking for businesses and organizations interested in participating in the parade, which starts at 11 a.m. July 4. The parade route travels from the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway, and heads south to 80th Place. It’s free to participate in the parade.
In addition to participants, we're also seeking sponsors for our amazing event.
