NEW CENTER ACTIVITIES
In the new Dean and Barbara White Community Center we have a Climbing Wall, Fitness Center, 3 Basketball/Volleyball Courts, Flex Studio and Community Room, a Teen Room, a Preschool Room, an Elevated Walking Track, a Concession Stand, and lots of programming ideas, along with the regular activities we had at Pruzin Community Center. Outside there is a Football/Soccer Field and Concession Stand with Press Box. Coming also is a trail from Madison to the new center. We have our Grand Opening planned for March 1, 2021. The Town of Merrillville strives to assure that pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Town of Merrillville Parks and Recreation Department is committed to identifying, updating and/or renovating all public parks to comply with the ADA and ABA (Architectural Barriers Act). It is our commitment to the residents of the town that we will continually improve accessibility within our parks complying with the guidelines set forth with the United States Access Board and Standards for accessible design.
