There are two Divisions of Town Court
- Traffic and Criminal Misdemeanor
- Civil Division (small claims)
As of October 1, 2012, the civil department of the Merrillville Town Court will no longer accept new filings. All existing judgments will be enforced.
The Merrillville Town Court was established on January 1, 1996 by a referendum vote of the residents of the town.
